BTCJam is the first global peer-to-peer lending network powered by Bitcoin.

Our mission is to connect individual lenders looking for attractive returns with borrowers looking for accessible and affordable loans.

In emerging economies, like Mexico and India, it is very difficult for citizens to obtain an affordable loan. For example, in Brazil the interest rate for a personal loan can easily reach 200%. Simultaneously, the borrower has to jump through many ‘bureaucratic hoops’, making the application a lengthy process.

Through the completely global, independent, and digital currency, Bitcoin, BTCJam can facilitate fast and cheap transactions, while overcoming the boundaries between countries. Furthermore, BTCJam developed a unique online, peer-to-peer reputation system in lieu of traditional credit scores to qualify borrowers across the world and allow them to build a transparent credit profile on the platform.

Celso Pitta
CEO / CTO
Before developing BTCJam and landing in Silicon Valley to prove the disruptive potential of Bitcoin, Celso built cryptographic systems for Visa and Citibank EDI platforms. He was granted a patent for a neural network computer vision device he created. Celso studied Computer Engineering at UNICAMP and, when he was there, he didn't hack the university IT System.
Gustavo Guida
Chief Product Officer
A serial entrepreneur since 1999, Gustavo always focused on marketplaces. His first company became one of the largest e-commerce marketplaces in Latin America. After selling that company, Gustavo co-founded another marketplace in the healthcare segment – recently merged creating the leader in Brazil. Some say that Gustavo, as an economist, was building and selling companies until he finally finds one marketplace in the financial sector so he could join and settle down.

Proud college escapee and ebonics connoisseur, Alexis Aiono is a proven self-starter that has established BTCjam's unparalleled support system. With experience in start-ups and a drive to constantly learn, she believes in and practices a personal approach of open communication with BTCjammers. A self-described Bitcoin vigilante, this millennial believes that autonomous cryptographic systems like the bitcoin protocol are not only revolutionizing the financial industry, but also are incentivizing a global, socioeconomic renaissance that is empowering humankind.
